HOW TO - Ribbon Storage self made

Hey ladies!
I've been thinking about how to store my ribbon in a better way then this...

And then I had THE idea - some plastic packaging from sweets seemed to be just the right thing to be pimped up into a ribbon box. Easy, cheap and selfmade, it would even be a great present.
Keep on reading and I'll tell you how I made my box...

Suplies / Material:

plastic box (aprox. 12x17cm) / Plastikbox (ca. 12x17cm) -
there's a hint on the pic where mine is from/da ist ein kleiner Hinweis auf dem Foto, woher meine ist

Eyelets and a Crop-A-Dile

Design Paper 2 x 4x30,5cm and 1x 9x15cm

4 circles to hide the edges / 4 Kreise um die Ecken zu verstecken

You'll start off with adhering the two stripes DSP onto the box - below the line where the top sits. As the box has rounded corners I cut the paper so that it's easier to adhere.

Then I took the circles to cover the cut edges.

Again I had to cut the circles to stick them onto the box.

Fold in one half and adhere.

Repeat with the other part of the circle.

This is how the box looks like when all the circles had been sticked onto the box.

Next - depending on how many ribbon you want to store punch holes. Be careful if you set the holes very close to each other the plastic might break and be ruined. Small crakes aren't any problem because you have the DSP plus sticky strip to hold everything in place.

Insert the Eyelets and fix them onto your box.
Fügt die Eyelets ein und fixiert sie.

I wanted some more holes and you can see that I came too near the border and the plastic broke (I'm ok with that as the top will hide those) but it didn't break into pieces.

Finally fill the box with your ribbon and you're ready to go!
I like the top not being totally covered with paper so I that I'm able to see if I run out of ribbon.

I hope you'll give it a try and maybe you want to share some pics of your boxes :o)

Hugs, Elisa
