HOW TO - Stamp Candles

I promised to make a tutorial on how to stamp on Candles - a really nice way to decorate your home or presents...

Ich habe ja versprochen, euch eine Anleitung zu zeigen, wie man Kerzen bestempelt - wie ich finde ein schöner Weg, das eigene zu Haus zu dekorierten oder Geschenke zu verschönern...

What you'll need / Was ihr braucht:

white napkin / weiße Serviette

stamp+ink / Stempel+Stempelfarbe

heatgun (or blowdryer) / Heißluftfön (oder normaler Fön)

baking paper / Backpapier

scissors / Schere

any coloring-tool if wanted / ev. irgendetwas zum einfärben

So this is the image I want to stamp onto my candle (stmaped on paper).

Das ist das Bild, welches ich auf meine Kerze stempeln möchte (hier auf Papier).

What you'll need is a white napkin and inkpads, I also used Copics to color in my image - dont stamp on the dotted area of the napkin.

Was ihr braucht ist eine weiße Serviette und Stempelkissen, ich habe zusätzlich noch Copics verwendet für mein Bild - stempelt nicht auf den gepunktete Bereich der Serviette.

When coloring your image you'll need very few color as the napkin soaks the color.

Bei colorieren des Bildes braucht ihr ganz wenig Farbe, weil die Servietten sehr saugen.

Then cut the image, make sure you have a neat border.

Dann schneidet ihr das Bild aus, versucht dabei einen schönen, geraden Rand zu schneiden.

Place the image onto the candle (just lay it down) then wrap baking paper around the candle and hold it in the back very tight, so that there aren't any wrinkles (they would show after heating the candle).

Platziert das Bild (legt es einfach auf) dann wickelt Backpapier um die Kerze und haltet es hinten fest, so dass es keine Falten gibt (die würde man nach dem erhitzen der Kerze sehen).

Using your heatgun (it works also with a blowdryer but that takes you a lot longer to do) heat the candle (hold your heatgun approx. 1-2in away from the candle) and heat until the image turns darker and the colors get more intense (as you can see on the upper right corner in the pic) - make sure that the edges of the napkin get soaked into the wax.

Benützt euren Heißluftfön (es geht auch mit einem einfach Fön, es dauert dann nur um einiges länger), um die Kerze zu erhitzen (haltet dabei den Fön ca. 2-4cm über der Kerze) und erhitzt das Wachs bis das Bilder dunkler und die Farben intensiver werden (so wie ihr es in der oberen rechten Ecke auf dem Bild sehen könnt) - geht sicher, dass auch die Ränder des Bildes mit Wachs durchtränkt werden.

So sieht dann die Kerze aus, nachdem ich das komplette Bild erhitzt hatte.

Carefully remove the baking paper and cut off the wax that might has melted at the edges of the candle.

Entfernt vorsichtig das Backpapier und schneidet das Wachs weg, welches eventuell über die Kanten der Kerze geschmolzen ist.
